Zurich, 10 October 2022 –The Board of Directors of Gazprombank (Switzerland) Ltd has decided to discontinue banking operations in the Swiss financial market following a strategic review of various options regarding the future business activities of the Bank. “The decision is the result of an in-depth strategy analysis and is being taken in close consultation with the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA” emphasizes Ivan Dun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprombank (Switzerland) Ltd. Existing business relationships, some of which have been in place for many years – primarily in the area of trade and export finance – will be wound down or referred to external banking partners in the coming months.
With the discontinuation of business activities, the Swiss financial center is losing an experienced provider of banking services, mainly in the field of trade and export finance, with the history of banking presence in Switzerland dating back to 1966 and operating as Gazprombank (Switzerland) Ltd since 2009.
